LMHC, Founder, Supervisor & Psychotherapist

Meet Kathryn

I work with high/over achieving individuals who appear to have it all together - educated, successful, and capable - yet feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or burned out from juggling the pressures and expectations of their careers, relationships, families, and personal lives. In my work, I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, perfectionism, burnout, people pleasing, relationship challenges, and family dynamics, past and present.

As the eldest daughter of a Korean American family, born and raised in the New York area, I am no stranger to intensity, high expectations, and the pressure to succeed and understand the nuanced ways culture, identity, family expectations, and achievement can shape our relationships, careers, and sense of self. I recognize the delicate balance you may be navigating between honoring where you come from and creating a life that feels authentic to who you are. While your story will be uniquely your own, I bring both clinical expertise and lived experience into the therapy room, meeting you with curiosity and compassion.

While I draw from evidence based approaches, including EMDR, ACT, DBT, my work is always trauma-informed and relational personalizing therapy to your unique needs and goals. My style is collaborative, warm, empowering, practical, and both insight and action-oriented, blending evidence based treatment with authentic human connection to help you create meaningful and lasting change. When appropriate I will gently challenge you to address blind spots and consider an alternative perspective.

Outside of the therapy room, I create mental health content on Instagram (@chatwithkat_) and have been featured in various publications discussing mental health, relationships, burnout, and emotional well being.

Kathryn’s Why

Growing up in the intensity of city life, amidst diverse communities, constant expectations, and a long list of "shoulds," I spent years striving, overfunctioning, and pushing through burnout. Like many high achieving individualsI I learned to keep going at all costs, often ignoring what my body and mind were trying to tell me, until I couldn’t.

As I navigated my own physical and mental health journey, I recognized a gap in the mental health field. I longed for a therapist who not only had the clinical skills to help, but who also understood these experiences on a personal and cultural level. I wanted a therapist that looked like me, that could meet me where I was at without having to explain myself.

And so, I became the therapist I once needed and built the kind of practice I had been searching for, a space where clients can feel deeply seen, understood, and supported.
