About the Practice
At Ohn Therapy, we believe therapy should feel human: collaborative, culturally sensitive, emotionally honest, and deeply grounding. We’re here to be real with you, collaborate with you and help you grow. We support clients in processing past experiences and connecting the dots, navigating present challenges, and supporting them in creating meaningful, sustainable change.
Our approach is relational, trauma-informed, non pathologizing and evidence-based, and always warm, non judgmental, and grounded in the full context of your life. Your identity, culture, family, the modern world. All of it.
The name Ohn is inspired by the Korean word 온 meaning "whole," "all," "entire.” We don’t see you as a diagnosis or a list of symptoms to fix. We see you as a whole person, worthy of support, compassion, and healing that honors your full story.
I built this practice because I needed it to exist before it did
As the eldest daughter of a Korean American family born and raised in the NY area, I always felt boxed in by expectations and pressures of what I “should” be doing and who I “should” be.
I built Ohn Therapy from a deep understanding of what it feels like to be misunderstood, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, feeling "too much” yet never enough at the same time. I wanted to create the kind of practice I once needed: one that sees people fully and holistically, honors nuance, and allows both clients and clinicians to show up honestly and authentically.
Our Philosophy
At Ohn Therapy, we believe people are not problems to be fixed. Many of the patterns that bring people to therapy: perfectionism, overthinking, people pleasing, hyper independence, and burnout, often developed as ways to adapt, survive, and even succeed.
How We Work
Our approach is relational, trauma-informed, attachment-based, and focused on both insight and actionable growth. We believe healing begins with compassionate curiosity: understanding yourself, your relationships, your patterns, and your lived experiences with greater clarity and self compassion rather than shame or judgment. Therapy is tailored to your unique needs and may integrate evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS while always remaining collaborative, holistic, and grounded in authenticity. Alongside deeper emotional exploration, we also focus on building practical tools and identifying next steps together so you’re not left sitting with insight alone, but supported in creating real change in your daily life and relationships.
We believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be fully human: messy, uncertain, grieving, hopeful, overwhelmed, ambitious, all at once. You do not need to have the “right” words or be perfectly self-aware. Our role is not to pathologize you, but to walk alongside you with warmth, insight, and guidance as you build healthier, more sustainable ways of coping and create a life that feels more connected, intentional, and authentic to who you are.
Who We Work With
We work with high achieving individuals, entrepreneurs, professionals and creatives who appear successful on the outside but internally struggling with anxiety, burnout, trauma, relationship and family concerns, boundaries, self-esteem, and identity-related experiences.
Many of our clients are used to being the “strong one,” the dependable one, the ambitious one, and are longing for a space where they no longer have to perform or hold everything alone.
As Asian American therapists, we are also passionate about supporting individuals navigating the complexities of the Asian American experience, including generational trauma, cultural expectations, family dynamics and identity exploration.
