You’ve built a successful life for yourself. You’re accomplishing your personal and professional goals. You’re the one people turn to when they need help because you’re capable, good at problem-solving, and show up for your friends and family.

You may do everything you think you’re supposed to, but still feel exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of what you actually want for yourself. You’re good at taking care of what needs to get done, but you’re not sure how much longer you can keep going like this.

Whether you’re burned out, feeling stuck, or a big life change has you questioning your goals, relationships, or what you really want out of life, we’ll meet you where you are and find a way forward together.

a practice rooted in insight & real change

WHOLE PERSON holistic CARE designed to foster deep insight, clarity & action

We believe therapy is about understanding the whole picture, making sense of what you're carrying, and turning insight into meaningful action so you can live with greater clarity, intention, and fulfillment.

That means more than understanding your symptoms or learning a few coping strategies. We want to collaboratively identify the root of what is bothering you to support you in making meaningful and sustainable change. We want to understand what shaped you: relationships, culture, expectations, past experiences, and the ways you've learned to move through the world.

We are not blank slate therapists. We will listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, support you in connecting the dots and challenge you when we see a pattern that may not be serving you anymore. We want to ultimately help you identify the root of the issue with a deep understanding of yourself so that you can identify next steps that feel aligned with your values and show up in your relationships, work, family as your healthiest, most authentic self. We’re here to empower and support you as you heal and move towards the life you want

We also believe therapy shouldn't be a place where you have to leave your identity at the door. We're passionate about creating an anti-racist, culturally responsive practice where we center your unique identity, culture, background, and lived experience. We stay curious, keep learning, and recognize that the systems and environments around us can shape our mental health just as much as our individual experiences do.

A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

As the eldest daughter of a Korean American family born and raised in the NY area, I always felt boxed in by expectations and pressures of what I “should” be doing and who I “should” be. I know what it’s like to carry a lot of responsibility and work hard to build a life that looks successful on paper while still wondering, “Is this actually what I want?” Those experiences shaped the therapist I wanted to be, and eventually, the practice I wanted to create.

I built Ohn Therapy from a deep understanding of what it feels like to be misunderstood, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, feeling "too much” yet never enough at the same time. I wanted to create the kind of practice I once needed: one that sees people fully and holistically, honors nuance, and allows both clients and clinicians to show up honestly and authentically and most importantly, one where people can see actual change in their life, career and relationships.

Our Services

Why Ohn?

Ohn (온) comes from the Korean word meaning whole, all, or entire, and that's how we see you.

You're not just your career, role within your family, or your accomplishments. You're a whole person with a history, culture, relationships, ambitions, values, needs, wants and hopes.

We don't believe growth requires you to hide or reject pieces of yourself. Sometimes it's about understanding them differently, deciding what you want to carry forward, or making space in your life for something new.

You don't have to perform and become someone else here. We’ll support you in becoming more fully yourself.

As therapists, we bring our full selves to the therapy room as well. All of our therapists have grown up in the NY area, come from non-traditional backgrounds, and understand the pressure, stress and constant “shoulds” that come with navigating demanding careers, family and cultural expectations, and the feeling that you are always behind and need to do more.

We also know what it’s like to be in the client’s seat. We’ve done the work and became the therapists we once needed ourselves. That means we show up not only as clinicians, but as real people: engaged, present, relational, and interactive. No blank slates. We'll meet you where you are, help you understand yourself more deeply, and work alongside you as you figure out where you want to go.
